Alyssas Motel Winter Activities

Snow Mobilers taking a break.
Winter activities are also great here on Thomas Pond!

SNOWMOBILING:We have local trail maps for snowmobilers, and we offer suggestions on the hottest spots to ride to, whether you are interested in a nice family ride to the local breakfast hot-spot, or a serious trail ride up ITS-89 to Bethel or further, you can get there from here! We have plenty of snowmobile and trailer parking. Unload your sled, and park in front of your motel room door. Access to Thomas Pond, is gained by driving your snowmobile around the front of Alyssas Motel, and then following the trail down to Thomas Pond.
Looking for a great local 1-2 hour ride from the motel (just to get warmed up to the area)? Why not take a trip to scenic Hackers Hill. There are several well-groomed local trails that will bring you to this beautiful spot (also located in Casco). On a clear day, from the top, folks can see the entire Sebago Lakes area, and also the White Mountains in N.H. Also a great spot to have a winter picnic with the family!
ICE-FISHING/X-COUNTRY SKIING. Of course, ice-fishing and cross-country skiing are two other great forms of wintertime activity on Thomas Pond. There are many lakes in the area, that are well stocked, our guests favorites are: Sebago Lake, Long Lake, Thomas Pond, and Trickey Pond. Of course Sebago is well known for its land-locked salmon, and Long Lake is stocked with salmon as well. Trickey Pond has various types of fish, including trout and splake, and Thomas Pond has brown trout, large and small mouth bass, and salmon. Maine fishing license required.

DOWNHILL SKI MOUNTAINS: We are also conveniently located only 30 minutes from Shawnee Peak Ski Resort in Bridgton,Maine, and only 1 hour 15 minutes from Sunday River Ski Resort, in Bethel, Maine.
